Had "R.O.C.K. In the U.S.A." peaked just one position higher there'd be two more: Shangri-Las and Young Rascals. Along with other acts of more lasting note that didn't hit #1 on the Hot 100, like James Brown and Jackie Wilson.

Ball of Confusion by the Temptations reached #1 in Cash Box in July, 1970--and it mentions that the Beatles new record is a gas. (Ball reached #3 in Billboard).
