I'm a fan of Disco Casey. I think he never sounded better.
Was there a specific week? Or even a specific month in which Disco Casey took over? Or was the change too gradual to know this?
I know it must have been sometime in early 1979, right?

The seeds were planted in late 78 after the 4hr conversion, but I really noticed a difference 7/14/79 coming out of the Disco special

Also he wants us to know he's going to be on the Dinah Shore Show. Also NYC has come back because of disco and John Travolta walking down the streets of - Queens? That's a long walk from Bay Ridge, especially carrying cans of paint, but whatever. The producers were probably as stoned as I was then or maybe I'm projecting.

Casey really sounded up on the 1979 year end and Top 50 of the 1970's specials. Maybe we was looking forward to having a few weeks off.

In the early months of AT40, was Casey always in a funky sound when introing a song by some R&B artist or some other rocking sound?

Going in the other way, I always notice it on those 1980 shows where he's still in Disco Casey mode while playing all the AC ballads, Yacht Rock, and country crossover.
