Thanks for the update. From the newz center, here’s a line from the article:
Hubbard Radio personality Fitz is named the permanent host of "Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40," beginning January 4-5, 2020. The Texas native is set to become the third host in the 45-year history of Country music's longest-running national radio show.
Just 5 minutes of research will save this type of nonsense.

Wow, I thought that kind of stuff was limited to the VJ thread. *shakes head* It really doesn't take a lot of time out of one's day to find out the facts, particularly in this day and age.
Anyway, thankful Bob's countdown will continue into the next decade.
ETA: Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood will co-host the year-end show, on the weekend of 12/28. Then Fitz will take over on the 1/4/2020 show.

No idea what the plans for the future are. FWIW though I cannot imagine it continues for long. Everyone should be thrilled I said this as my curse continues. Anytime I open my mouth and say something will or will not happen, the opposite is nearly guaranteed. Been this way since I emphatically said the Patriots would beat the Giants in Super Bowl 42 and go undefeated. Since then I am wrong on nearly every prediction I make!

I'm not thrilled, for your sake...I am thrilled about the future of the show though. Don't let it discourage you...I always welcome your opinion on these things. Yeah, that Pats-Giants SB was, in my eyes, a bummer. Personally, I have a dislike for the Giants that dates back to 2001, which is right before the Pats began their dynasty.

My guess is the sound of the show will change with Fitz. Fitz already hosts a countdown show that has a much more modern sound. That Rob Simbeck has exited is telling of that different direction. Not that it’s a bad thing, but I do think the show will change.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood did a nice job hosting the annual Year End Top 50 on CT40. The show was fun and upbeat with a touching tribute to Bob at the end. Would have been a nice final chapter for CT40, honestly. But we'll see how "Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40 with Fitz" does

I’ll also be interested in hearing how this Fitz person does hosting CT40.

Would have been a nice final chapter for CT40, honestly. But we'll see how "Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40 with Fitz" does I was out of range of the radio station I was hearing the show on when they got to the end. I did hear the usual montage of the year’s No. 1 hits and the intro to the top song — “ Beautiful Crazy” by Luke Coombs — but was thereafter unable to hear the end. Which was too bad for me. Bob was so good to Garth and Trisha and the tribute (as you suggest) I’m sure wasvery great. His was a huge loss to country music. Wonder, besides Rob Simbeck, if anyone else is leaving or it’s just him. Which may or may not mean anything. Well have to see and as I said it’ll be interesting to hear the show under Fitz. Brian
