Nooooo. First Eddie Money, now Ric Ocasek . At least he’s now with Benjamin Orr, his ex bandmate. Boy, if there’s a Rock N Roll Heaven, it must be rocking tonight but man what a loss. Favorite Cars songs of all time...”Magic”, “You Might Think” and “I’m Not The One”. RIP Ric and thank you for the music.

Speaking of Ric Ocasek, his 2 songs with The Cars are featured on today's Fantasy Top 20, "Let's Go" from 1979 and "Drive" from 1984. But Doofus67 still has not posted it. Why?

Ric Ocasek proved that slightly awkward looking guys could still make it big in the era of MTV. In addition to loving many of their big hits, count me is as a fan of some of their lesser known tunes like "Why Can't I Have You, "Dangerous Type" and "Touch & Go".

My favorite songs by The Cars that Ric sang lead on:
"Magic" "Hello Again" "Tonight She Comes"
I also loved his underrated solo song "Emotion in Motion". If the retro reruns of AT40 airs a show from 1986 in the coming weeks, it's likely that Ric's solo song, and Eddie Money's biggest hit will be on the chart.
What really surprised me was the age in which he passed. I was expecting him to be in his late 60s. Never expected him to be 75.
Another sad loss in music. He and Eddie Money will be performing a concert to an audience of angels in heaven tonight.

The Cars had some iconic songs that's for sure-"Drive" & "Just What I Needed" are two of my all time favorites & they featured the late Ben Orr on lead vocals.

I like "Just What I Needed" and "Bye Bye Love" more, out of all their oldest material, and they were both sung lead by Benjamin Orr.
My favorite of the oldest Cars songs sung by Ric Ocasek was "You're All I've Got Tonight". All those songs were during a time when The Cars were just starting their musical drive. They never had a top 40 hit after the unsuccessful "You Are The Girl" around October 1987, and the band broke up in 1988, though I do remember hearing that they announced a reunion tour in 2011, with a new single and music video, "Sad Song", which retained the band's new wave sound, despite being released in 2011.

Yet another loss for the music world. I recorded several Years ago some songs from The Cars from the Radio. And a few Years ago, I purchased a CD of their first Album (with the Woman smiling and at a steering wheel). On Wednesday, I played two of their Songs, as they are not familiar with them as I am. His work remains for me classic and unchanged by Time. R.I.P.
