I was glad to read in the article that he died "peacefully" and surrounded by his family after his terrible cancer struggle. Loved his music, in fact, can't think of one song of his (from Baby Hold On, Two Tickets To Paradise, to Take Me Home Tonight, even his minor hits, Walk On Water, and Peace In Our Time) I didn't love.
Rest In Peace, Eddie...

RIP Eddie. He made some great music. ("I'll Get By" peaked at #23 on AT40 but made the top 10 on CT40. One of my favorites from 1992).
He charted through Casey's era right on into Shadoe's. Here's a montage of some of his appearances on Shadoe's AT40...

Eddie's biggest hit was "Take Me Home Tonight" which peaked at # 4 in the fall of 1986-It featured the legendary Ronnie Spector on background vocals.

Anyone recall Eddie Money appearing on a King Of Queens episode? Kevin James does--

Eddie made some great music and always seemed like the nicest guy around. One of my faves from him is his version of "You've Really Got A Hold On Me" by The Miracles. This song peaked at #72 in early 1979:

There are only two favorites by Eddie Mahoney (his real name) and they were both from his 1986 album. "Take Me Home Tonight" and "I Wanna Go Back".
But he can't go back... to life. I know.
Sad loss in music.

This was a terrible Surprise for me. I had heard of his battle with Cancer, but I did not know that was so far advanced. When I heard of his death, I did cry. R.I.P.
