Best known to fans of the Billboard charts and AT40 as having one of two duelling versions of Ric Cartey and Carole Joyner's tune "Young Love" in 1957, the other by the ol' Southern Gentleman, Sonny James. The '60s film star's career was revived in the '80s with roles in the features Polyester and Lust in the Dust.He admitted to having been gay for much of his career in a 2007 autobiography. He died Sunday (7/8) in Santa Barbara, CA from complications of a blood clot in his leg, Variety reported. dL
