Charles Neville passed away April 26 at the age of 79, after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. Charles was the horn man for the Neville Brothers. The unique brand of music from this Grammy award winning band entertained fans for several decades. The saxophonist also played with the likes of B.B. King. Once the Neville brothers split, Charles continued to support his brother Aaron more recently. For years, the Neville Brothers would close out the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, scheduled to open today. His daughter Charmaine, brother Aaron and nephew Ivan are all scheduled to perform individually or in groups at the festival this year. Charles' saxophone kicks off the title track from their popular 1989 album. Yellow Moon - Neville BrothersObituary
