He began in the music industry drumming for Trini Lopez for a couple of stints. In the mid-60s he worked with Johnny Rivers and toured with Bob Dylan. In 1967 he became the drummer for the First Edition. He was with the group during their tenure, including their television variety show "Rollin'" in the early 70s. He began an acting career in the mid-60s, and became a notable character actor through the years. He appeared in the movies 'Starman", "Total Recall", "National L a m p o o n's Vacation" and "Tin Cup". He had many television appearances, including recurring roles on "Justified" and "Home Improvement". In 2009, he released his autobiography "That Would Be Me" whose title is based on the catch phrase he was known for on "Home Improvement". We remember Mickey on the drums with this great hit that just missed the Top 10, peaking at #11. It was written by Mac Davis.
