Dennis Edwards passed away February 2, one day short of his 75th birthday. He joined the Temptations, replacing the fired David Ruffin in 1968. His gritty vocals helped launched the group into their psychedelic era, where they enjoyed #1 success with "I Can't Get Next To You", "Just My Imagination", and "Papa Was A Rolling Stone". Dennis left the group in 1977, but would reunite a couple of times in the 80s. He also toured with Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin before their passing. In his later years he toured as the Temptations Review Featuring Dennis Edwards. Along with the original members, Dennis was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1989. He was briefly married to Ruth Pointer in the late 70s, and their daughter Issa is currently a member of the Pointer Sisters. One of the first Temptations' hits featuring Dennis earned the group a Grammy. Cloud Nine - TemptationsObituary
