Dave Hlubek, founding member and lead guitarist with Molly Hatchet has passed away at 66. Though they never dented the Top 40, they did chart 4 times in the Hot 100. Their first single "Dreams I'll Never See" was a fantastic cover of an Allman Brothers tune (titled "Dreams"). It bubbled under for 3 weeks, reaching #106. The band broke nationally in early 1980, reaching the Top 20 with their second album. The title track was their highest charting single, peaking at #42 over a 10 week chart run. Through the years, it has become a Southern rock staple. Flirtin' With Disaster - Molly HatchetObituary
