A few notes:
1. The AT40 - the 70's series is assumed to have begun in January 2007.
2. All dates listed for weekly countdowns are chart dates (for shows prior to May 1, 1971, the Billboard chart date is listed not the date the show originally aired). For specials, the date on which the show originally aired is what's listed.
3. No weekly countdowns from 1979 were aired until November 2010; from November 2010 until April 2012, all countdowns from October 1978 through December 1979 were aired as 3-hour shows with only hours 2-4 of the original show offered. Starting in April 2012, the full four hours were offered with the 1st hour optional to subscribers who wished to play all four hours rather than hours 2-4 only; there is no special notation to indicate that these shows are 1st hour optional except for the first few such shows.
4. Also starting in April 2012, Premiere began offering an alternate 'B' show along with countdowns from 1970 through the end of 1972, and for the original four hour shows from October 1978 through the end of 1979. Starting in 2021, Premiere added 1973, '74, and '75 to years that are accompanied by a 'B' show.
5. Other bonus shows have also been offered on various holiday weekends, as well as the 3/25/72 Dick Clark hosted show and the 5/13/78 Mark Elliott hosted show, which were each aired as tribute shows in the wake of their passing.
6. The various Christmas shows offered as 'B' shows during November and December were not included in this list, as most of those shows were not part of AT40 as aired during the 1970s.
7. The use of "(R)" to indicate repeat shows was discontinued starting in 2023 as all shows in regular rotation are now repeats; any special cases, such as guest hosted tribute shows, will be noted accordingly.

WMGN is playing 1974 this week.

WMGN lately has only chosen the newer of two 70s options when both were originally three hours. Last week they picked 1972 over 1979.

However, they did for whatever reason go for the newer of two 80s options, choosing the 1987 B show over the 1980 A.
