It's been a rough last three months for the Manhattans. Edward "Sonny" Bivens and Winfred "Blue" Lovett passed away six days apart in early December. Now the last original member from their 1962 incarnation Kenneth "Wally" Kelly passed away on February 17th. Interestingly Kenny left the band in 1990 to pursue his PhD, and ended up teaching biology in the New Jersey and North Carolina public schools before transitioning to the retail business. Sonny Bivins, who joined the group as their lead singer in 1970 and was lead on "Kiss And Say Goodbye" and "Shining Star" continues to perform as leader of the Manhattans. www.soultracks.com/story-kenneth-kelly-dies
