WDRV, the classic rock station in Chicago has had a series of free concerts through the years. This year, for example it was Peter Frampton and Cheap Trick. The first in the series was Joe Cocker. What a great show; I thoroughly enjoyed it. A soft spoken man with that wonderful booming raspy signature voice. Glad I had the chance to see him. I just have this vision of him and John Belushi doing "dueling Cockers" in the great beyond. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZsOyO_lXD8RIP Joe.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Joe Cocker-He was certainly a talented performer-Loved his rendition of "With A Little Help From My Friends" which was the theme to TV's "The Wonder Years".

Here’s a 3-minute clip of Jennifer Warnes from yesterday, talking on BBC Radio 5 live’ Breakfast morning program, about her old partner www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02ft7phA few more audio clips on BBC I also found interesting: Paul McCartney, thanking him for turning his song, “With a Little Help from My Friend”, into a soul anthem; www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-30582085and Joe’s older brother, Victor (a musician in his own right), about his sibling’s last months, as well as reminiscing about their teenage years in Sheffield, England: www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-30587617and Rick Wakeman (of Yes) paying his own impromptu tribute live on the air moments after news of Joe Cocker’s passing: www.bbc.co.uk/music/artists/32f2d6bd-c22b-42cf-a7bc-0c4b48cd2bcbMy favorites from Joe Cocker are plenty, like the covers from his ‘Jamaica Say You Will’ album, which I first bought its cassette in 1975, and is now one of my oldest in the tape collection; But for a tribute song, here’s one that was a 1992 Top 30 single in the UK and might be more appropriate, Now That the Magic Has Gone-Joe CockerRIP. You will be missed.
