I looked at a few videos and it seems to have been Champlin. Which CD says it was Scheff? The 2-CD set "The Very Best of Chicago: Only the Beginning" released by /rhino in 2002. From the CD booklet: "The latter album ["Chicago 19"] was certified platinum following the success of "Look Away," a Scheff-sung power ballad from the pen of '80s hit machine Diane Warren, with Albert Hammond". I do not have the "19" LP/CD, so I do not know who is credited with the vocal on that album's notes. I don't know why it mentioned Jason Scheff as the singer but it's definitely Bill Champlin on lead vocals. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uKLTtVqQpE
