Today has featured two shows from slow-moving chart periods. First was 4/30/83, second is 4/29/95. Both shows feature six acts with two songs in the survey.

Casey's Top 40 from 3/7/92. This is a time period that truly never listen to, nor did I then, and I knew maybe eight or nine of the songs

The five double-digit jumpers, three double-digit droppers (all right after #40!), and three chart droppers all from the 20s in the 83 show would have a little something to say about being called slow-moving.

AT40 from April 29, 1989. Been a while since I listened to a Shadoe show so I figured, why not?

I have the morning off so I took a nice walk on a nature trail and Ed McMann kept me company with AT20 AC from 1/17/04
I just listened to AT10 from 7/2/05 last week and "You're So Vain" was a formal extra on both shows, which reminded me about how he felt like there was a handful of songs that were featured as the formal extras with a story once every few months on the HAC and AC shows.
The one that I felt like was always played was "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith

One of my fave AT40 shows ever is winding down. A little biased here as the host is Albany, New York's most famous music industry personality (as opposed to artist since I am not aware of any from Albany where I lived my first 32 years) Martha Quinn is guest hosting. Bias aside, she is the antithesis of Hall & Oates. A LOT of enthusiasm and wit on her part. May 1, 1993 BTW.

Just past the halfway point of the 4/28/84 show--and wow, what a show it is so far! One of the best first two hours of a show that I can remember. An unbelievably good mix of songs, and Casey sounds like he's at the top of his game. My only complaint is the way Premiere originally edited this show...and that they didn't redo the editing for this past week's airing.

Now listening to the SXM VJ Big 40 countdown from last week, which was from the Billboard chart of 4/26/80. I love April 1980 shows--some of my all time favorite songs are on these countdowns. Even without Casey, this show is a fun listen because the music is just so good...(with apologies to all 1980 haters out there)

2/1/75 on a flight to Cincinnati.to go to a wedding for two people I have never met. A ponderous situation for sure. Perhaps I should have gone with 9/14/85 for today

And for its shortcomings, courtesy of SXM's countdown we get to hear that enthusiasm and wit every week, in addition to her other hosting duties on that channel. (Unfortunately, her three colleagues don't always measure up.)

She is terrific--just listened to her on the 4/26/80 VJ Big 40 countdown (see my earlier post), so apparently it's a Martha Quinn day for me today. I always liked Martha when she was a VJ back in the early days of MTV, and I have to admit that I'm curious as to why she hasn't been asked to host more AT40s...

CT40 from 5/4/91 and Casey mentions that the third longest continuous top 40 streak in the rock era has ended this week. Janet had logged 86 weeks in the 40 with her 8 hits from 'Rhythm Nation', topped only be Elvis and Pat Boone's 100+ week streaks in the 50s. Then he makes a mistake in naming Atlanta's current professional teams. Mentions the Falcons, Braves, Hawks and Flames except the hockey Flames left town over 10 years earlier!
