Here is an FYI for mkarns courtesy of Casey in the 1/14/06 AT20. Fall Out Boy's backstage demands include 12 cans of Mountain Dew, 2 loaves of Wonderbread and a tray of raw vegetables without cauliflower or broccoli. Maybe you already knew that based in your interaction with them...lol

I'm listening to AT 40 from 4-26-1980. #40 was "The Seduction" from the James Last Band (from American G. OST). The version in this recording (from Premiere from 2012) has a piano lead instead of a saxaphone. I assume Premiere substituted this version and the original in 1980 included the single version that was out at that time--I don't ever remember hearing anything but the original back in 1980.
BTW, this program also includes one of my favorite "Lost Treasures" from the 70's and 80's..."Only A Lonely Heart Sees" by Felix Cavaliere. Definitely an under-rated and under-played song. I remember buying the album at the time and was surprised to hear "People Got To Be Free" and then found out Felix had been part of the Rascals (that was before wikipedia, you know...)
Story about C.W. McCall right before Felix Cavaliere...mentions the origin of C.W. McCall in Omaha, Nebraska, created partially by Chip Davis, founder of Manhiem Steamroller. Keith in Nebraska (home of Zager & Evans, too...)

One of many 'lost treasures' from 1980--one of my favorite musical years.

AT20 5/17/08. Comparing with the 2002 show I listened to yesterday the difference in his voice is actually quite startling.

Right now its the chart from 32 years ago today. "Africa" by Toto and "Heartbreaker" by Dionne Warwick are two of my top favorites from this show. Later it will be the CT40 from 1/11/97. "Barely Breathing" by Duncan Sheik debuts that week. Man, did I love that song. Still do.

I do too. I also liked the follow up in 2002 "On a High" that was a minor HAC hit. I remember it on Rick's HAC show, didn't get AT20 at the time so I don't even remember if it cracked the Top 20

It's 1/17/76 to start, leading off with "Fanny (Be Tender with my Love)" by the Bee Gees. Later, I'm fast-forwarding way ahead in time to the AT40 from 1/9/99.

After a day off of work and three days away from countdown shows (I know!), today I'll feature three shows from three different years: 1/18/75, 1/19/80, and the CT40 from 1/22/94.

Starting the day with 1/20/73 then going to hear the debut Casey's Top 40 from 1/21/89 for the very first time. I'm looking forward to that, greatly.

Yesterday was AT40 from 6/14/03, which is the show that aired the morning before my first date and first kiss in high school - and I chose to listen to yesterday in anticipation for a first date I had last night.
This morning it is AT20 HAC from 11/30/02

pointpark mentioned Casey's first CT40. You know it is interesting that in the all the first and last AT40s and CT40s that he did, 4 of the former in both runs and 2 of the latter, there was never any reference to any of those shows being the first or last shows. However with Shadoe whose last show has its 20 year anniversary in exactly one week, both his first and his last shows have references to those shows being the first and last, respectively.
