AT40 from July 22, 2000. Why am I listening to this show at the end of April? Because of the #1 song on this show. For a 4th week... guess what? It's gonna be MAY!

LOL! Reminds me of the Maytag ad I saw last night; they used a part of that song.
While we're at it, why don't we listen to 7/23/1988, as climbing to its peak position of #2, is "Pour Some Sugar On MAY" (as Casey often said). 😂

AT40 from May 15, 1999. Hard to believe it's been 20 years since these songs were out!
Interesting story in the first hour about the Dalai Lama. And Casey mistitled Britney Spears's debut album as "Britney" - she would use that title for her 2001 album but her debut album was called "Baby One More Time".

Just finished AT40 from 4/6/85, now onto 4/7/84. Interesting to listen to these back to back and hear the subtle differences between these two years...

Just finished AT40 from 4/6/85, now onto 4/7/84. Interesting to listen to these back to back and hear the subtle differences between these two years... I remember Premiere paired those two shows one weekend. Interesting for sure. Almost through the third CT40 show from 2/4/1989. Hopefully sometime in June I'll be caught up. ETA: Now it's AT40 from 5/4/1985. Also got all the other May 1985 AT40 shows, and all CT40 shows from May 1991 in the queue, with CT40 1989 in between them. Once I get through all those, I'll throw 1979 back into the mix; left off with the 6/2 show.

It's the show many wish would've aired this year...AT40 from 5/14/1983. Just in the first segment now, with the first top 40 hit from INXS leading off.
Love 1983 shows... especially spring and summer.
ETA: Springing ahead 52 weeks to 5/12/1984. Quite a difference in show content.

Been a while since I listened to 1995, so I put on Casey's Top 40 from May 20, 1995.

Casey's Top 40 is pretty popular in here of late. Up to 2/25/1989 (6th show) in my marathon.
Casey goofs in the intro to Kon Kan's "I Beg Your Pardon", which is at #23; he even laughs during the intro. He says there are two pieces of music from other songs in this track: Lynn Anderson's "Rose Garden", and the music from the 1960 western "The Magnificent Seven". But there's a third: G.Q.'s "Disco Nights (Rock Freak)". Not sure if Casey corrects himself in a later show; I'll be going through them throughout this year. But "Rose Garden" has been mentioned almost every time thus far.
ETA: Forgot to mention Silver Convention's 1976 hit "Get Up And Boogie" is also heard in the same part as G.Q.'s "Disco Nights (Rock Freak)". So there's two omissions; though I understand Casey is pointing out the more notable samples throughout.
