I listened to AT40 from 12/13/2003 the other day. Call me crazy, but the LDD's from the high school kids on this one were so ridiculous, even Casey sounded like he was reading them ironically and mockingly.

AT40 from March 2, 2001, during the short time Casey used an unpublished Mediabase chart. Six songs that appeared on the R&R chart had fallen off, while five songs on this show had yet to make top 40 on R&R and one ("Leaving Town") had fallen off R&R. Ja Rule's "Put It On Me" was the furthest from its R&R debut, it would wait four weeks to make it there.
Ironically, R&R's #1 that week, "Again" by Lenny Kravitz, never hit #1 on AT40 - "Love Don't Cost A Thing" blocked it out.

2/7/87 and Casey misidentified a new station as being from Asheville, Greenville and Spartanburg, North Carolina. Asheville if in NC but the other 2 cities are in South Carolina. A lot of disappointed people in that region after their Charlotte based Carolina Panthers lost the Super Bowl. This after Clemson lost the college title game. That region encompasses those 2 teams and 3 cities.

"Casey's" Top 40 from March 7, 1998. This was one of the shows hosted by David Perry (though still identified as being a guest host on CT40 - it would switch to "The Top 40" shortly after) prior to Casey's return to AT40 a few weeks later.

Casey's Top 40 from 12/12/92. Not a bad show, a little bit of a mixed bag--reminiscent of my freshman year of college. At #9, d**n Yankees with "Where You Goin' Now"...good song, though it was a little bit of a "High Enough" re-write. Before that, the Spin Doctors with "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong"...I know "Two Princes" was their signature hit, but that song got played into the ground so much that I have to admit I like "Little Miss..." better at this point. One of my faves in this show was the power ballad from Saigon Kick, "Love Is On the Way"...as I've mentioned before, hair metal wasn't my favorite genre, but this was a killer cut.

I don't know if the song "Walk On The Ocean" by Toad The Wet Sprocket was in the Top 40 yet, but it was a hit I really liked at that time. It was one of those rare instances where the single version was actually longer than the album cut.

AT20 Hot AC with Ed McMann from 7/13/02. How the Hot AC format has changed. Maggie May by Rod Stewart is playing as an extra. Can you imagine this getting airplay on a Hot AC today?

No but that was a show from 14 years ago. If a show in the format of AT20 were around today I could definitely see songs from the mid 80s being on it and 1985 is to 2016 what '71 was to '02.

I'm not so sure... 80s has gone from being a Hot AC staple to the definition of the current generation of classic hits stations. Even Mix 105.1 dropped Friday Night 80s after all those years. HAC really has morphed into 2000s and today.
