Hip To Be Square was edited this week. The verse with "I like my bands in business suits" omitted. Actually, that line was included in the version of the show I heard. Was that verse omitted in the original run of the show?

Another song edited on AT40: The 80's 11/15/1986: "Land of Confusion" by Genesis omitting the second verse (that starts "Hey, Superman, where are you now...") and second chorus - A Premiere edit too?

Was that verse omitted in the original run of the show? The business suits line was intact in my WLS 94.7 FM Chicago (ended after hour 3) airing.

It seems to me that verse (and chorus) are omitted from the song more often than not. I was, however, very disappointed that one of the weeks it was edited (originally or by Premiere) was its debut week.

On AT40: The 80's 11/23/1985: "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves" by Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin omitted out the instrumental bridge between the bridge verse and closing title lines. - Original or Premiere?
Also shortened on AT40: The 80's 11/23/1985: The LDD of "I Want To Know What Love Is" by Foreigner omitting the second verse. - Original or Premiere also?

^If something has to be trimmed, instrumental bridges are good things to take out.

I listened to Premiere's version of the 11/27/76 show today. I caught several edits that I was wondering if anyone knew if they were original or Premiere.
36: A Fifth of Beethoven (Was edited the way AT40 has done on other shows.) 33: I Only want to Be With You 15: Do You Feel Like We Do (It was the single version with two additional edits. I think the first edit was Premiere , but the second was original.) 14: You Don't Have To Be a Star 4: Muskrat Love
Surprisingly they did not edit "The Wreck of the Edmud Fitzgerald".

On AT40: The 70's 12/2/1972: I wonder if the #40 song by Cashman and West of "American City Suite" was edited by Watermark originally to make it under 5 minutes...

On AT40: The 80's 12/12/1987: Was "True Faith" by New Order shortened by Premiere omitting a verse and chorus?

On AT40: The 80's 12/12/1987: Was "True Faith" by New Order was shortened by Premiere omitting a verse and chorus? Also the second verse of Def Leppard's "Animal". Casey would make up for it on 12-19-87 with a "snarl"

On AT40: The 80's 12/18/1982 in the top 3 recap: "Gloria" by Laura Branigan had the 2nd. half of the chorus looped twice (a la Shadoe AT40) and we didn't get to hear the second verse - An edit trick from Premiere?
