On AT40: The 80's 12/18/1982 in the top 3 recap: "Gloria" by Laura Branigan had the 2nd. half of the chorus looped twice (a la Shadoe AT40) and we didn't get to hear the second verse. It seemed as though they cut out a little more than that, but that could be just me. Either way, it's weird that they edited "Gloria" so much, yet played the entire album version of "Mickey" - both as last week's #1 and as part of the chart.

On AT40: The 80's 12/24/1983 in the Top 3 recap: The #1 song of the previous week "Say, Say, Say" was shortened playing only the first verse and chorus and then the ending "boo hoo hoo, say, say, say" parts - Premiere hatchet job, I guess.
Also on AT40: The 80's 12/24/1983: "Heart and Soul" by Huey Lewis and the News had the second chorus and instrumental bridge removed/edited out - Original or another Premiere hatchet job?

On the AT40 Top 100 of 1986 Part 1: Did the #100 song of 1986 - "Go Home" by Stevie Wonder - get shortened omitting the second verse? I think it wasn't that way back in the original ABC Watermark version of this.

In part 2 of the AT40: The 70's Top 80 of 1972 part 2 the #38 song from 1972 ("Backstabbers" by the 'O Jays) omitted the instrumental bridge between the next to last chorus and last chorus - I don't think it is a Premiere edit, or is it?

Lots of edits on part 2 of the top 100 of '86. Especially a few butchering edits (Premiere or Watermark?) on the #40 song from 1986: "Conga" by Miami Sound Machine. UPDATE: Also "Addicted to Love" (#10 for 1986) was shortened playing the first verse and ending chorus!

A couple of others songs edited on the original show were "How Will I Know" and "I Miss You" . There probably were more edits, but that is just what I remember from 32 years ago.

'I love a rainy night' was looped on the Premiere broadcast, and OE 'Best times' was edited to almost nothing!

Has 'Land of confusion' ever been played in its entirety, by Premiere? Please say.

On last weekends 1977 show both "Year of The Cat" and "Somebody To Love" were edited. Does anyone know if the edits were original or Premiere? The edit on "Somebody To Love" was in an unusual place, mid verse, so I suspect it was Premiere.

The edit of John Williams' Close Encounters theme on this weeks 1978 show was pathetic. Couldn't they have just faded out the song early?
