And here's an article that show how big the ratings boosts can be for going all-Christmas: www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/christmas-music-radio-station-ratings-269928I can't stand it either (I love Christmas music, but not before Thanksgiving and not the same songs over and over and over again. One *can* get sick of Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas is You," even though it's actually a near-perfect pop Christmas song, when it plays 100 times a day (or seems to).

Are any stations running the four-hour 1979 show anytime on Sunday?

My two main pregnant doges are the earliness of it all (Before Thanksgiving and after Xmas is stupid) and the endless repeat of the same old stuff. There's thousands of choices, repeat the most popular yes, but ONLY playing the same 100 songs is asinine!

KOKZ still seems to be playing regular music on air, thought there's a separate link you can click on their website for Christmas music. I hope they still play non-holiday music through this weekend at least, as they usually play 4 hour countdowns. So does WODC, but they've gone over to Christmas music and only have the Christmas countdown listed for this week (speaking of which, I hope they use the same optional extras as last year, which were songs Casey mentioned in the original countdown but AT40 apparently couldn't then find playable copies of.) I listened to KOKZ a few times and sometimes they had the commercials cut into the beginning of segments (automation!!!). Let's hope they can at least get the first hour right this weekend. Full credit to KOKZ. They played all 4 hours with all optional extras without any problem.

KOKZ is the station of the week. Are they not the only streaming station to play the 1ST hour of 1979 this weekend? KLFM in Australia played it on Friday night.

At least the first Premiere extra is different from last year's airing of the Christmas 1971 program and this time, the original end theme played while Casey did the credits. The theme kept playing while Larry Morgan did the Premiere credits. When this aired last year, there was no theme playing until Casey signed off and the then non-existent Shuckatoom played while Larry Morgan did the Premiere credits.

1971 Christmas Show Bad News. The DVD-R audio disc became no data after I made a title from the disc menu. There’s not a scratch on the disc. Philip Dvd Recorder said you can not record on this disc. The display shows how much time on the disc and that’s it. Disc Menu is gray meaning not available. I tryed the disc in my other Philip dvd recorders. No luck. I don’t know to say. Maybe 98.9 will play the 1971 Christmas instead of 1979 show instead. No guarantee. They are a new radio station this year in carrying the rebroadcast of Casey Kasem show of the 70’s and 80’s shows. I had to reset that dvd recorder and another one to work again. I’ll be most grateful and appreciate if anyone can help me. I was going to make a copy for Jimmy and another person from this board. Please PM me if you can help.
