The extras are my favorite portion of the show.

Any of the these station air the optional extras? I have the show from when it aired in 2010, but don't have the extras... I'm curious. Why are the extras important to some of you. Not that you should or shouldn't be interested in it, just curious. Note: not directing this to wahoo but to everyone who wants the extras. Well, in the case of original AT40 extras that have been pulled out of the show, those songs are imperative to get in order to make a complete show. For Premiere extras, I like what it adds to the shows--unless it's a song I really dislike. It's usually another 3 or 4 good to great songs to add to the top 40 of the given week. Don't have to have them, but they're a nice addition...

You can count on the extras for the 1976 PM broadcast. A lot easier to have the show run late after MID than after NOON. Thanks for the props but you know Christmas is around the corner. I do like the holiday specials though but since I'm a lover of 1970, I want to hear another one from that year. I don't know when the holiday music starts, but you'll hear about it here first.

In some cases, the extras are actually from the original broadcast. I also like the extra bits of trivia Larry gives to the Premiere extras too.

Thanks for the answer guys. I definitely agree with the extras from the original broadcast. I accept it but I don't like to hear the 60s or 70s ones taken out of the shows. Some of the shows (it was a couple 80s) sounded weird edited without it.

Extras that weren't a part of the original broadcasts aren't important to me either, but we like to include them because of listener interest. They are really provided as filler content but with the amount of commercials stations air today the extras mostly overfill the hours. In a recent case where an extra was from an original broadcast WODC left it in, but took out one that was not, to keep the show on time. In some cases if all the extras were played, they would eventually push the last segment (containing #2 and #1) into resync (skipping it) and right into the next show on the air. Extras are good, but many times they include songs that are going to play within an hour or two after the end of AT40. Love to air them though to deliver all that is offered.

1971 for WBBG. Probably 1976 for KQQL, since they've pretty much always selected the later-70s show.
