On a show in I think 1985 there was a long distance dedication letter sent in about a little boy who died in plane crash and his goal of world peace. The song was "Imagine." What week was this on?

Believe so. Was it a boy who sent the letter in? Whatever the case, thanks for the info.

I know there was an LDD for John Lennon's "Imagine" in a spring 1987 broadcast (I think it was April 25, 1987?). I am not sure if that's the one the OP is referring to.

No, I was 99% sure it was 85 and a dedication to a boy (turns out it was a girl).

Accordin' to Pete B's '80s book, it was from a boy named Ben, to Samantha Smith.
