Isaac Hayes also did a fine rendition of "Never Can Say Goodbye"-It reached # 22 in 1971.

In 1965, Herman's Hermits reached #4 with their cover of "Wonderful World". Safe to say, the Sam Cooke original (#12 in 1960) remains the best known.

I enjoy the remake of Wonderful World that features Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon & James Taylor--but as indicated above the Sam Cooke original is better Known.

George Benson's version of "Love Ballad" outpeaked the original by L.T.D. on the Hot 100 (#18 vs. #20), but I would say that L.T.D.'s version is more well-known.
