I was hoping for a few shows from 1970 in the last half of the year. Yes, I realize that 1970 was over 40 years ago. But 1970 and 1971 (and '72 for that matter) were great years for music. Several of the stations that air AT40 The 70s do play songs from that era--CKWW comes to mind--and the "A/B shows" option should satisfy those stations not wishing to air music from 40+ years ago. Even though I was just a little kid then, I would really enjoy hearing that music again. If AT40 had been around in the 1960s, I would want to hear those shows too! Thoughts?...

We've actually heard quite a lot of 1971 this year--combining A's and B's, it was heard every month from March to July, plus September--though the Premiere pair-ups mean that some extra effort was needed to find a show at a convienent time. 1970 has been arguably underplayed so far, though maybe it just drew a proverbial short straw.
SXM, however, has been quite generous with the early 70s; 1970 was heard in July, August, and September.

No argument from me. The sooner we get all 1970 shows aired, the sooner my life will be complete!

You're right! There was a generous helping of 1971. And thanks to that marathon on July 1st, I did get to hear the first-ever AT 40. As far as SXM, I gave up on XM years ago. They used to have a "free week" or weekend once in awhile, but not recently. I still find the quality of SXM streams exceedingly poor--worse than most radio station streams. My last straw with XM was when they tacked on a "music licensing fee".

More 1970 is good for me, too. The year of the beginning of my musical awareness, and the first year I got hold of our local Top 40 hit surveys. I wouldn't see Billboard until 1972 or so. There was no AT40 in my market until February 1971. We did have a lot of '71 shows this year, but I had hoped for at least one more '70. Are there any July 70s available other than the July 11, 1970 chart? Would love to hear the July 25, 1970 chart in particular.
