When Dick Clark guest-hosted the 3/25/72 show, he suggested that they produce AT40 using voice-tracking instead of playing all the songs in their entirety. I know AT40 took his advice, but can someone tell me the first episode produced with voice-tracking? Did they start doing it the week that Clark guest-hosted, or did they wait longer to begin the new production method?

I believe it started a few weeks/months later but don't know the exact date. It's possible the equipment needed to properly do this needed to be purchased and then a new system of how to do the show implemented. This was a pretty big change. I doubt it took place overnight.
