I'm almost scared to see the Top 10 - I'm sure that I'm not going to like it, especially if half the songs are from after the year 2000.

The list became a Rick Dees All Request Countdown level joke when:
81. Billie Jean 80. Abacadabra
Although 80 is the perfect title for this situation:
Abacadabra, alakazam this Top 100 chart just became a sham!

At least they weighted the different years as they did with the 50 year anniversary listing. But I saw one mistake. They said "Hey Jude" was the longest playing #1 single at 7:13 or whatever. That distinction goes to "American Pie" at 8:22 IIRC. Casey mentioned that on more than one occasion BTW.

At least this is better than the one I mentioned a few days ago from the late 1990s (I think), in which "Whoomp! (There It Is)" was supposedly the #1 Hot 100 hit of all time. Even Rick Dees would laugh that list right out of the park.
And regarding song lengths, maybe they were just considering the A-side of the single. I recall Casey saying years after the fact that the 45s of "American Pie" sold in 1971-72 split it between both sides.
