Does anyone remember a controversy? I don't. She sang "I'm oh so horny". Wasn't that, to say the least, unusual for the Top 10 those days?

Not sure why I never picked up on that lyric in "Last Dance", but it sounds right. That makes at least two songs with "horny" in their lyrics to hit the Top 40 prior to The 2 Live Crew doing it in 1989.

I think when "The Bad Touch" by the Bloodhound Gang made AT40 in 2000, the word "horny" was reversed, I'm not sure though, my memory could be deceiving me...

This is news to me (and i'm a huge fan of hers). "When I'm bad/I'm so so so bad" is how most people hear it, i think). A handful of questionable lyrics sites do not necessarily make it so.

This was news to me too, I see that the lyrics online list words this way, but I have never ever heard those words. I'll have to check it out.

She substitutes horny for bad right before the end of the song, the last time she sings it. At least that's how one lyric site has it. Perhaps it was only on the soundtrack LP back then.

I listened to the song again (played the version from the "On The Radio" album). To me it sounds like she threw an extra "so" in there so it's "I'm so so so bad" and "bad" is kind of dragged out. By the way you can't go by lyric sites, those are not official lyrics thoses are just transcribed by whoever. I've seen lots of lyrics that were wrong on those.

Well then I guess that explains why there was no controversy. It sure doesn't sound like "so so bad" here though www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU3MXibkIx4I'm still leaning toward the Thank God It's Friday LP version saying "horny". And who would listen to that LP much if at all anyway, so I can see it going relatively unnoticed. God I actually bought that LP. As I read about this some more, apparently there was a controversy three years ago, when Wendy's for some reason was giving out a disco compilation to kids and many parents heard what I hear and understandably were unhappy. And she denied ever singing it that way. WTF And now they're selling a Pretzel Bacon Burger.

I think she really meant to say "honey" and not "horny". Don't know why it sounded like she threw in an "R" somewhere. Might be her accent, who knows?

Initially I thought this thread was just joking around. But it looks like that wasn't the case. So here is my opinion, for what it's worth.
I have listened to this song from every source, probably 1000's of times. Never once have I heard anything but, "When I'm bad I'm so so oh bad". I think this discussion belongs in the "Four Hundred Children" thread. I can only imagine how Donna Summer would have rolled her eyes if she heard about people hearing it another way. It just goes to show that people will hear what they want to hear and they love controversy. It reminds me when I was a kid and a friend of mine used to sing the James Taylor "Handy Man" lyrics of: "Here is the main thing I want to say. I'm busy 24 hours a day" as.... "Urine is the main thing I want to spray. I'm busy 24 hours a day"
I would place the Donna Summer "controversy" in that category.

I only brought up the topic because, just in the last few days, I heard it on the radio - ohhhhhhh on the radio - ohhhhhhh on the radio. Anyway, I and some angry Wendy's customers and some lyrics site editors heard "horny". www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU3MXibkIx4At 2:54. Horny. But maybe that version was never played on the - on the - well you know - back then.

I just looked at the youtube video that was referenced and it sounds to me like she is saying "...I'm bad, so, so--hold me." Just prior to that line, she sang "hold me", so I think it's a repeat of that line, regardless of what lyric was supposed to be sung there. No controversy as far as I'm concerned.

I think you're right. Okay then how about Fleetwood Mac? Hitting the Top 10 with a song called "Horny". Disgraceful!
