I haven't heard them all but we can eliminate anything that ends with 80 and 81 from that roster for me.

My personal faves are 3/05/83 and 4/17/82. Heard each replayed during an eventful weekend over the past few years; no other reason.

July 4, 1981: "The Top 40 Hits of the Beatles." One of the best four hours of radio that I ever heard!

833-9 08/27/83. Never heard of the show, but found this 4 LP set in a local used record store for about $15. Bought it and played it over and over to the point it was worn. It started my interest in the show as a teenager. It grew from there.
Second favorite 9/22/84. This was the show I received right from ABC watermark in a ABC watermark mailer as a one time sample. It was the US version with commericals, along with a promotional brochure and a nice letter from Suzanne Barron, the international sales rep. I drove them crazy as a kid writing to them I think...but eventually wore out the welcome, which was fine, as I got some neat stuff until that point! Thanks again for them putting up with me...LOL!

My most favorite show from the first half of the 80s is one that Premiere will never air:
May 26, 1984.
Why? Because it was the last week of AT40 before my taste for new 1984 music started to decline. A lot more great stuff than in subsequent weeks in 1984 that week, a lot of Footloose hootenanny, plus a lot of number jingles! And Charlie Van Dyke was at the mic too!
My runner-up goes to November 26, 1983.

My most favorite show from the first half of the 80s is one that Premiere will never air: May 26, 1984. Maybe Premiere didn't air it but XM did in 2007. The only time (so far) that a non Casey hosted show (Charlie Van Dyke was host for the 5/26/84) was aired by them at any time thus far. Kinda strange since there were 3 other shows from that month that were Casey hosted, only one of which (5/19/84) has been rebroadcast (by Premiere).

I like the week (don't remember the exact date) probably of March 1984 when Casey played the English/German version of "99 Luftballons" when it was falling to #7. As a kid, I had taped a lot of that show off the radio that week. Brings back happy memories. That and the Top 100 of 1984.

4/26/80 6/28/80 8/1/81 8/15/81 6/5/82 6/18/83 7/9/83 7/30/83 8/20/83 11/5/83 6/2/84 6/9/84 6/30/84 7/14/84 7/28/84 8/4/84 12/22/84
As one can probably tell, most of my favorite shows are summertime shows...

Well, strictly on the basis that I won a contest held each week by our local AT40 affiliate and thus received that week's show on vinyl, I would have to say August 6, 1983.
August 6 is also my mother's birthday. I still have the show - of course. I would never part with it.
The station is 3WS, WWSW-FM, Pittsburgh. The station now airs the 70s classic AT40 edition.

My most favorite show from the first half of the 80s is one that Premiere will never air: May 26, 1984. For me, that is an "exact birthday" countdown so I appreciate that one, as well as others from that date. Funny, you would think with that date (as well as others around Memorial Day) there would be more guest host shows but I don't think there are too many. I like that CVD counted them down on my b'day. As for my favorite shows from the first half of the decade, counting them down in order: 5) 1/12/80 (hosted by Mike Cleary): Starting the new decade off with "Rapper's Delight" on AT 40. I don't think Casey ever got to "count down" the Sugarhill Gang, and that's a shame. Plus the show has a unique number one in "Escape" which is the only song to ascend to the top spot in two different decades. 4) 6/20/81: The week "Medley" went to number one, which later would be more significant because that one week prevented Kim Carnes's "Bette Davis Eyes" from having ten weeks at number one. 3) 10/30/82: I remember this as if it were yesterday. I remember coming back from my grandparents house and it was playing in the evening as we were driving. I had never heard the beginning of the countdown at the time and was excited to hear the recap that began with "Eye In The Sky". I also heard ABC's "The Look Of Love" for the first time before we lost the signal...just a great memory. 2) 4/23/83: Rarely did songs I love go to number one. So when Dexy's Midnight Runners did it, it was very special to me. It also stopped Michael Jackson from pulling off a back to back Number one feat, which I still find impressive. 1) 7/3/82: The very first AT40 I heard. I was so disappointed that "Rosanna" was not number one. So I listened to see if it would hit the top the next week. And then the next. And then the next. And then the next. And I haven't stopped listening since I didn't realize at the time, but I was lucky that the 7/3/82 was a regular show. If it was any other Fourth of July weekend show up to that point I would have had a special, which means I might not have ever listened to the show the same way that I did.
