I wasn't actually listening to the show this week, but I joined that Facebook group... and it threw those 400 kids in my path. Misheard lyrics of our childhood AT40s sounded good. :-) I remember that it was 35 years and a different singer (probably Gladys Knight) before I understood the lyrics to I Heard It Thru The Grapevine.
Elton John was frequently unintelligible...
Even now I realize I don't actually know the words to a lot of old AT40 songs and have to stop and look them up. it's not that I've forgotten them - more that I'd forgotten I didn't understand them once upon a time. Anyone else?

A few "misheard lyrics" that immediately come to my mind... "Miss Miller" from Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" "Yukon Johnny" from Dire Straits' "Walk of Life" "An African in Brazil" from Men Without Hats' "Safety Dance" "Big fat girl" from the Four Tops' "When She Was My Girl."

A classic: "I got shoes, they're made of plywood...and I'm losin' the soles". You can figure out the song!

Watch "The Price Is Right". - Night Ranger Well, of course, I know that one - "Sister Christian" - as I became the butt of many jokes because of that song (since my first name also happens to be Christian - and I'm a guy)

I worked in radio in the late 70's through most of the 1980's and got a lot of strange requests over the years...one caller wanted to hear "I Want a New Truck" by Huey Lewis & The News, and another requested "How's About A Face" by Billy Idol.

Elton John was frequently unintelligible... I think the best of those lines are "Hold me closer, Tony Danza".

Yep, right up there with "'scuze me, while I kiss this guy"! ;D In case anyone has not figured out the mangled lyric I posted earlier, it's the opening two lines of "You're the One That I Want".

"My Ears Are Alight" Desmond Dekker & Aces (Israelites) "400 Children & a crap in the field" . As all good farmers know,at this time of the year working those long hours in the fields,a small supply of t.p. is a must to put in the tractor in case you have to go in the middle of the field.

My all time favorite of mine:
Elton John- Bennie & The Jets
"She's got electric boobs, her ma has too"
One I now hear every time:
Bloodrock: D.O.A.
"Lying here staring at the ceiling, someone lays a s*** across my chest, something warm is flowing down my fingers..."
I was on the floor for that one!
