I did know he was an activist on the part of Arab Americans. I knew he was into social causes like with animals, the environment, and all and is policitically far left (voted for I think Nader and did vote for Dennis Kucinich) but didn't know about the specific Arab American activism.

Casey has long been active in Arab American causes in addition to his many other political interests. He authored a brochure, "Arab Americans: Making a Difference", which was published by the Arab American Institute. The text is reproduced here: www.aaiusa.org/pages/famous-arab-americans/

Did anyone notice that the date of the event on the press release says 2012? Regardless, it's a great honor for Casey.

That date must be a typo. April 16 of this year is on a Tuesday and the issue date at the top of the press release says 2013.
I'm wondering if the institute might have the ceremonies videoed and later posted.
