I was listening to a show and for some reason something Casey said just triggered this question in my head. Does anyone know if there was ever a week in which 3 or more songs debuted in the top 40 and all of the debuts from that week hit #1? I figure 1 or 2 debuts would be more easily achieved so I didn't ask about that.

I can think of one: 8/24/85, with "Oh Sheila", "Take on Me", and "Saving All My Love For You". There was one other debut that didn't, and oddly enough, it was the only one of the four to also be debuting on the entire Hot 100 that week ("Lonely Ol' Night").

The show from 10/20/73 had 4 debuts. 2 of them hit #1. All 4 hit the top 10 and all stayed on the top 40 at least 12 weeks before any fell off.

While there were 7 debuts on the 11/22/1975 chart, three of those songs went on to hit #1: "Love Rollercoaster" by Ohio Players, "Mandy" by Barry Manilow, and "Theme from Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To)" by Diana Ross.

You mean "I Write the Songs" by Barry Manilow.

tarobe... thanks for the correction. If you can believe this...
The AT40 show for the week ending December 7, 1974 featured three debuts which would hit #1... one of which was "Mandy" by Barry Manilow. The other two songs were "Please Mr. Postman" by The Carpenters and "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" by Elton John. There were six debuts that week.
