What does American Top 40, professional wrestler Daniel Bryan and the words Yes and No have in common? Well, I will tell you. I was listening to the American Top 40 show from December 19, 1981 this weekend and Casey mentioned all of the songs that had either "Yes" and "No" in their titles that hit the Top 10. When I was listening to this, I was thinking about Daniel Bryan. Who is Daniel Bryan? He is a professional wrestler in World Wrestling Entertainment. Throughout this year, Daniel has used "Yes" and "No" as his catch phrases.

How can yes and no be catch phrases? Because it's wrestl....I mean, sports entertainment...in 2012. Outside of that I have no idea because I gave up on the entire genre 3 years ago and haven't watched since.

I didn't catch that show, but quickly thought of a few such songs: Yes, I'm Ready Yes We Can Can No More Tears You're No Good No No Song

a catchphrase would have to consist of 2 or more words, wouldn't it?

a catchphrase would have to consist of 2 or more words, wouldn't it? I think Homer Simpson would disagree with you..., "D'oh"! Now that I think of it, David Seville and Jimmy Walker would disagree as well

I don't remember ever hearing David Seville or Jimmy Walker saying "D'oh!"
I do, however, remember hearing Esther Rolle saying "d**n d**n d**n". I think it was because she had just dropped a punch bowl or something.
And David Seville might have said "d**n" at least to himself in exasperation over Alvin's behavior.
BTW I just learned that "David Seville" was the guy playing the piano in Rear Window which is apropos of nothing I guess.
David (Ross) looked a lot like Jack Webb, I think.
