Thursday's edition of USA Today mentioned that Adele's new single "Skyfall" debuted at #8 on the "Billboard Hot 100"-I was wondering if any fellow board posters have heard the song-If so,what do you think of it?

Like a lot of modern songs that are nothing but crap, plus me being a die-hard fan of 1980's music, I don't think I even care about anything by Adele.
I may hear it on a future AT40 broadcast when it plays in my friend's car, but 999 chances out of 1000, I won't care about it.

I heard the song on the morning show I listen to when I wake up. Got home after work, googled it to find out more information. Liked enough to buy it from iTunes. My first Adele song (I didn't buy her '21' album). I like the piano in the song and compared to the high energy dance and hip hop songs that Top 40 radio plays now, it is so nice to hear someone that can actually sing and hold a note.
Plus at 1:50 in the song, they manage to work in the familiar James Bond theme.

The song has not been number 1 in the official UK charts.

The chorus reminds me of "Diamonds Are Forever". It's good by today's standards, but it's recycled music of old like most good tunes are today.
