It seemed as if, for a while, XM was obsessed over airing February 25, 1984. If I remember correctly, during the first nine months of 80s airings since its return in 2006, February 25, 1984 was the only 1984 show airing. Plus it aired 5, maybe 6 times from 2006 to 2008 (if I recall?). I can see why Premiere is holding off on airing that show until perhaps much later on - when enough time will have passed between the last XM airing and the Premiere airing. Listeners were probably tired of that broadcast after hearing it on XM so many times a few years back.

SXM no longer carries AT40 the 1980s, instead they have an in house countdown hosted by the former MTV VJs. The 80s shows broadcast on XM and SXM can be found on lionking.org/~shadow/afl/at40onxm.html. There's a number of anomalies on the list (mostly typos): 8-27-2006: 6/5/83 10-22-2006: 10/20/82 11-26/30-2006: 11/11/80 1-14-2007: 1/1/80? 7-8-2007: "7/7/87 <--this is obviously a mistype, Most likley they did 7/10/82"; 7-12 has the same "7/7/87" as a Replay 10-25-2007: 2/25/83 (Replay) - But, 10-21 has the correct 2/25/84 1-6/10-2008: 1/18/85 2-10/14-2008: 1/25/84 5-25/29-2008: 5/28/88, which is a correct date, but there were two shows on that date and there is no specification. However, it does make me wonder if this is the regular countdown since the Giants of Rock Special, which aired that July, IS specified upon its airing. 8-24/28-2008: 8/10/83 9-18-2008: Replay without a date specified, but 9-14 was 9/18/82 11-5-2008: 11/18/80 (Replay) - But, 11-2 has the correct 10/18/80 3-8-2009: 3/4/84 4-5-2009: 3/2/83 5-3-2009: 5/2/82 7-12-2009: 7/4/87, which is a correct date, but there were two shows on that date and there is no specification. However, given the specification of the Giants of Rock Special, I suspect that this one is the regular countdown.

Incidentally, there must have been another typo on the site as well. For 5/20/2007, it lists May 26, 1984, which was hosted by Charlie Van Dyke. I think the site owner may have been confused and meant to say May 26, 1979, since that date in both 1979 and 1984 fell on a Saturday.

I've seen it mentioned that they did purposely air that one.

Makes me wonder if there were other sub-hosted gems that aired on XM, and Premiere doesn't want to air them?

I also noticed that XM also aired only the second half of the top 100 of 1986 and the same for the 1980 or 1982 year-ender. Premiere did the same as well. I wonder if Premiere got the episodes from the 70s and 80s after XM aired them? And as of lately, we've been hearing retro rebroadcasts by Premiere Networks that were never aired by XM (one of them being May 19, 1984, which aired nearly a year ago).
I also noticed, in recent weeks, after Larry Morgan opened the retro broadcasts with "And now, Premiere Networks proudly presents..." instead of "And now, the Premiere Radio Networks proudly presents...", we've been hearing mostly new offerings (the last time a rerun aired was possibly in February or March, and I don't think there was any rerun in April at all). This is probably a step in the right direction for sure.

And as of lately, we've been hearing retro rebroadcasts by Premiere Networks that were never aired by XM (one of them being May 19, 1984, which aired nearly a year ago). There were a few episodes first aired by Premiere in 2007 & 2008 that were aired by them before being aired even the first time by XM. It is true that we're seeing more episodes in recent years being re-aired for the first time by Premiere (as opposed to either XM or Flashback) than we have in the earlier years of the current Premiere series, but in truth, the number of such episodes in a given year is in fact only a few larger even last year. It's like...in 2007 there were (without counting) around 15 episodes getting their first re-airing by Premiere, while last year that number was closer to 20. 4/27/85, aired just last weekend, was a repeat from 2009 - though, that airing didn't have Larry Morgan as Premiere's announcer (it was Mike Kasem for that one, I believe).

Currently I don't have a working computer so I can't make the corrections on the webpage till I get one but thanks for pointing them out. I do know that the 5/28/88 show was the top 40 newcomers special. Premiere would air the same show a few months later in July.
