I didn't know what to call this thread. Since the site is called "American Top 40 Fun & Games," I'll go with that.
From April 8, 1972:
"The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (#10)
where does he sleep?
"In the Rain" (#9)
what does he get after he sleeps in the rain?
"Jungle Fever" (#8)!

Reminds me of a week in 2009 when these 3 songs were back to back: "Sober," "Rehab" and "Addicted."

I can't decide whether the was inspired by the Jeopardy category, or the 3 ep Buffy arc: Smashed, Wrecked, Gone.

A few months ago on the AC charts Bruno Mars had "It Will Rain" at number 3 with Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" at number 2.

On AT40's Top 100 of 1990, Phil Collins had 3 solo songs "back-to-back-to-back", as Shadoe mentioned.
"I Wish It Would Rain" ranked #68, "Something Happened On The Way To Heaven" ranked at #67, while "Do You Remember" ranked at #66.

I'm listening to the 6/28/1975 show now, so try this one on for size:
As she was leaving my house, she said to me "LISTEN TO WHAT THE MAN SAID...if you don't keep up THE HUSTLE to make a few more bucks at your night job, we can't afford to get married, and LOVE WON'T LET ME WAIT. I'M NOT LISA," she said, walking down the front sidewalk. "She could wait till the cows come home, but I'm a little more passionate and anixous--like WILDFIRE, so I keep asking myself WHEN WILL I BE LOVED as your wife?" I looked at her lovingly and told her "The heck with my night job--we don't need more money--LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER!"

From 9/10/88: Sometimes 17: I HATE MYSELF FOR LOVING YOU because 16: LOVE BITES but then, 15: I DON'T WANNA LIVE WITHOUT YOUR LOVE because you're 14: ONE GOOD WOMAN and besides, 13. IT WOULD TAKE A STRONG STRONG MAN to ever let you go. This is fun.

This weekend's 1973 countdown has two songs back-to-back that seem to go together:
"Give Me Love" "Pillow Talk"

I liked it better the previous week when.....
at #4 was "I'm Gonna Love Ya Just a Little More baby" followed by "Pillow Talk".
Conversation would have gone like this......
"I'm gonna love ya just a little more baby!". "And to prove it, let's have some pillow talk!".
