I remember back in 1987 that a Florida group called Company B had a hit in the spring and early summer of that year with "Fascinated".
I think, when the song debuted at #39 on AT40 in May 1987 (I think?), Charlie Van Dyke may have sub-hosted that week (#40 that week may have been "Just To See Her" by Smokey Robinson, if I recall).
My question is, when the announcer introduced "Fascinated" for the first time, did he mention something about the group's name being inspired by a song title during World War II that was recorded by The Andrews Sisters?

I know they mentioned that factoid later in the song's run, but I don't remember it on it's arrival into the top 40.

FYI, "Fascinated" spent its last week in the 40 on 6/27/87 - we got that show last summer as many on the boards can probably recall. They did a bit on the song's intro during the 6/13/87 show (great show, btw) in which Casey gave the background on the group's ties to Ish Ledesma formerly of Foxy and Oxo. I am thinking that Ish was married to the lead singer of Company B and maybe even produced that song?

I am thinking that Ish was married to the lead singer of Company B and maybe even produced that song? I checked, and it wasn't just that song - he produced them, period. Yes, he formed the group with three girls, one of whom was his wife Lori. Incidentally, 1983's "Whirly Girl" (Oxo's only hit) is about Lori, too.

It was the May 23, 1987 (it was #29 that week) show that had the story and a drop-piece about the Andrew Sister's hit. It had jumped up 7 notches that week, and debuted on 5/9 at #39 as you recalled.
