I have a few at40 shows that are split into hours, but not into segments, what is the best editor for this? Thanks.

Audacity should work as well.

I still use my old copy of Sound Forge 7.0; works like a charm!

Sony Soundforge is my favorite for that task!

I use LP Ripper. It's the same software I use when I rip vinyl to separate the tracks.

I actually have somewhat of the reverse problem -- my digital copies of many of the shows are split by SONGS. When I put them in my iPod, there is a noticeable gap. Any easy way around this? (As the father of a young kid, I don't have large amounts of time to spend re-editing the shows.)

So long as all the parts and pieces are the same bit rate and whatnot, there's usually (99.99% of the time) not too many issues. Just make sure you're putting the songs in the correct order if you're trying to reconstruct a particular show. I've only had one or two occasions where I've had to reconstruct whole shows using Audacity, which does tend to be time consuming.

I edit the mp3 files I save each weekend using WavePad ver 4.52. That is not the current version. I tried the most recent version and didn't like the UI changes the company made so I switched back to the older version of 4.52. www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.htmlTo find the older version, you can Google "WavePad download version 4.52"

"MakeItOne" is another good one too Scott - works on a drag 'n' drop principle and as long as your stuff is in the right order it'll output a final mp3 file containing all of your audio together. It also has room for your ID3 tags and outputs the same bitrate and sample rate as the source audio. download.cnet.com/MakeitOne-MP3-Album-Maker/3000-2141_4-10518202.html
