Does anyone use a Tablet PC to record AT40 each weekend? Is it even possible to record the show with a Tablet?
Each weekend, I record AT40 on my desktop Windows 7 computer using Replay AV8 from Appian Technologies. But a number of times each year, I go on vacation and am away from my PC.
On those weekends, I miss catching AT40. So I was thinking if I had a portable tablet, I could log into a free wireless network at my vacation destination and then record the audio stream from XM Radio (where I am a member) and from CKRU - Peterborough Ontario.
Having never pulled up an app store, I don't even if there is "an app for that".
Of course, the most popular tablet is the iPad. Can an iPad record American Top 40? If so, can I transfer the audio file from the iPad back to my desktop PC?

No replies from anyone yet. That might mean:
What I want to do, can't be done with a tablet OR
The people that have read the post, don't know the answer to my tablet questions OR
Instead of using a tablet, I should look at getting a laptop.

Yes you can record on an Ipad. There is an app called Tunein radio which records internet streams. I think it does xm also but I'm not sure since my xm account doesn't have xm online.

but then the question is how would you convert it to "regular" computer language, instead of danm apple language. Regular computers dont even recognize an ipad if you connect it to it.

Thanks for the replies so far. More research for me.
I looked at the Tunein app. To record internet radio, you need Tunein App Pro. The Tunein webpage has the ability to check to see if your station is available. Turns out XM 7 does not stream on Tunein.
The good news is, Kruz-FM 100.5 (CKRU-FM) does work on Tunein iOS Pro, so I would be able to record the Premiere AT40 70's and 80's show each weekend.
The bad news, according to the Tunein support page, I would not be able to export any recordings from Tunein Radio Pro. So back to square one.
XM Radio does have an app for the iPad.
Now I just need an app to record the audio stream and see if the Wondershare utility can transfer the file from the iPad to my PC.
