Very surprisingly, two better stations for streaming AT40 in terms of sound quality are:
1) WMJI/Cleveland and 2) KKLZ/Las Vegas
Surprisingly because a year ago, both of these ALWAYS used to return to the program several minutes in progress after EVERY break. This is no longer the case! Don't tell me a few listeners might have actually complained!!! Also, KKLZ always plays the extras.

Good to hear--because that's the reason I have shied away from both of these stations--they both botched the commercial breaks too often. Last time I used KKLZ (for the 4/10/76 show last year?) they deliberately played an extra ad on top of the re-entry from every commercial break other than between the hours--I had to patch in audio from another feed which made editing the show take forever. WMJI used to do the same thing WMMX always does--plays the extra ad over the beginning of the shows so it comes in during the first song. You're right though--audio on both is quite good--especially WMJI. Hopefully both stations continue to play the shows cleanly. My current favorites are KLOU, WPCH and WJGH. All three play the shows cleanly, have good audio, and WPCH and WJGH both typically play all 3 extras (KLOU only plays the one prior to the final segment). WODS is the "last resort" station if I can't record any others during the weekend--though they used the dadgummed radio.com player, so you need to volume roll every 45 minutes or so to keep the stream from timing out...which is a pain considering the show doesn't start until 11 pm CT.

You know you are really addicted to Match Game when you glance at this thread title and think it says something about Brett Somers!

I use WODS as a last resort, mainly because of the show's late start time (midnight). The sound quality is definitely good. Unfortunately, CBS-owned stations (of which WODS is one) aren't shy about "stuffing in" the commercials. Their breaks are long, repetitive and tedious. Their breaks almost always time out properly. Regarding WJGH in Jacksonville, I was using them before the holidays but was having an issue with buffering (drop-outs). One week had several drop-outs in the same hour but after switching to another station's stream, I had no problems at all. Ever try WLIF/Baltimore? I haven't used them but they sound very good, and appear to time out properly. WUPE was briefly on my list, but got tired of their mixing in segments of previous shows with the current one. Also, they have a low-level reverb which is completely unnecessary. KQQL in Minneapolis, although sounds good, seems to have level fluctuations and they too have erroneously aired segments of previous shows mixed in with the current one. KJR-FM was absolutely great but of course they don't air it anymore!

I recorded KQQL last weekend. Crystal clear and done well. No "made up" extras. You can get the "actual show" with minimal editing. It is a warm sound - and I think VERY level. The processors are set very closely to the fidelity of WQSR for the Sunday show.

I was going to recommend WBBG (Youngstown, OH, hometown of Bob Stoops). Good sound quality, and their Saturday morning AT40 shows had been error free since preempting the show over the Christmas holiday season. That was, until this morning. They messed up by skipping the second segment in the final hour. Went from "Stoney End" at #11 to "I Hear You Knocking" at #6.
The downside for WBBG is that they never play extras, which is not an issue for me unless those are original extras. The extras introduced by Larry Morgan are just filler to me.
Anyway, I like this topic. I'm not satisfied with the audio of the station I use for original extras, and I look forward to checking out some of the other stations recommended here.

I agree, WBBG has excellent sound quality, although there is the occasional blip. They also have a replay of the weekend show on tuesday nights which I found very handy due to extremely busy weekends. Unfortunately, north of the border, I can no longer listen to the station due to the geo blocking that was implemented on iheart radio.

I agree with atfanmpls.KQQL(Kool 108) stream is really good 64 kbps AAC,the sound is amazing ,WBBG is a litttle behind it although it is also good.I use it as back up.I used Kruz for a while but that reverb in the background is very noticeable once you listen to KQQL stream. For the 80s I don't think there's any debate WQSR tops them all.

WQSR is tough to beat. I would say that WMLX is audio-wise one of the best 80's stations as well. Now, a little bit of a knock against them since they have stopped playing all 4 extras, but their audio is rock solid.
