Were there any famous people who sent in Long Distance Dedications, or did anyone who sent in a long distance dedication eventually become famous? I remember seeing in, I think, one of Pete's books that a famous writer or the wife of a famous writer submitted an LDD. I think it was in the late 70s, but I can't remember for sure.

I remember seeing it posted the weekend the August 2, 1986 show aired last year (dedication: "I Wanna Be a Cowboy"), that the writer's husband was an author. I only remember the writer was named Louise, dedicating to her husband Michael.

It's not from the Classic AT40 period, but sometime in 1995 or 1996 model Niki Taylor (along with her older sister) sent a Request and Dedication in memory of their 17-year-old sister Krissy who died unexpectedly from an asthma-related disease.

Yes, it's too bad there are too many hoops and loops to go through to get the original people involved on the air as they did for the first ever LDD in 1978.
