Pete, you gave us a hint for the 70s show next week... are you going to give us a hint for the 80s show? This might narrow it down to what show it will be next week.

So I'm curious. At stations out there preempting AT40 70s or 80s because they have the rights to carry the Superbowl tonight? I'll give a warning. If the Browns win, WQSR *could* interrupt perhaps to talk about it and maybe play celebratory music and what have you.

There are a lot of long suffering Browns fans that would love for them to win the Super Bowl tonight. Only problem is that the Browns still have not qualified for a Super Bowl yet. I think the Jags may do so first BTW.

Next week's 80s program from Premiere included a country artist, a commercial artist, and a frustrated artist.

Alright.
So Kenny Rogers is my country artist. My frustrated artist is Kenny "This is It" Loggins.
The commercial artist...Isaac Hayes?
That would make it 2/9/80, and another correct 80s show guess for moi.

The country artist alone makes me think it's 2/9/80 as well; my other guesses for next week would've been '86 or '88.

Hmmm...."commerical artist" could mean a show with Barry Manilow on it, since he pretty much got his start working in the commercial jingle field.

It would have been nice to air 1988 or even 1987 next weekend, but oh well, maybe next year. Then again, they did air a 1988 show not that long ago - The Top 100 of 1987 aired only a few weeks ago, and that originally aired on 1/2/1988. So maybe they're holding off until March to air another 1988 gem, and same for 1987 (though not the first weekend of March due to being sub-hosted).
I could care less for a 1980 show, as there was hardly anything upbeat worth my listening to during that time. "Rock With You" by Michael Jackson is the only song I enjoyed from that point in time (it may have been #1 that week).
Though I do have the 4/26/1980 show. That wasn't that bad a show, IMO (except for "The Rose", which debuted at #39 that week - I edited that one out).
If 1980 does air next weekend, I wonder if the Archive extras will be included in this broadcast?

That's a good question with the Archives - I guess with that one, we'll see if they're back to actively removing them once again, as with all previous cases, it's been repeats of shows where they'd originally removed them - and they simply didn't bother to put them back. 2/9/80, however, would be a new show in the sense of they haven't previously aired that one yet.

Frustrated – what made Kenny Loggins so frustrated, I wonder?
Frustrated – has 1988 been taken out of the rotation?

WGHN, who plays the 70s show on Sunday nights, will be airing the game instead though they'll probably air it after it's over; I'll check up on them every once in a while.

Frustrated – has 1988 been taken out of the rotation? It could just be that they opted to go with '80 over '88 for next weekend, and '88 instead gets moved to the week after.
