Guys, I was hopin' you'd be open to hearin' some non-Casey hosted shows. Charlie Van Dyke still does voiceover work to this very day. Many untapped countdowns air with guest hosts. Casey did have to take off occasionally! Let's have Premier give us those!

I dont think anyone would have a problem with that. However, it doesn't look like its ever going to happen so don't get your hopes up. Just pretend you are a Jaguars fan as it relates to the Superbowl.

The only thing Premiere can do is renegotiate and acquire guest hosts or Shadoe included in the package - but that still remains slim.

Premiere owns the rights to all the AT40 and supposedly CT40 shows.

Guest hosted shows? It's called "CASEY KASEM'S American Top 40 the 70's/80's" for a reason!!!

Guest hosted shows? It's called "CASEY KASEM'S American Top 40 the 70's/80's" for a reason!!! I agree. There is a tiny, tiny, tiny part of the population of the world that care about the top 40, much less what year is going to be played. And it seems that we have all ended up right here at this remarkable site! The rest of the world could care less if "Shattered Dreams" by Johnny Hates Jazz dropped from 2 to 3, but still had a bullet. What the market wants to hear when they are tuning in is the voice of Casey Kasem. That's what sells. Always has been, hopefully always will.

Premiere does not own Shadoe's AT40 shows. I honestly don't know about CT40, but I know for sure they do not own Shadoe's.

That truly makes no sense. How would they own only part when the rights to the show in full reverted back to Casey Kasem in 1998 and they, well AMFM, purchased it from him?

I don't know the reason why, but they chose not to spend the money on Shadoe's shows. I don't think it makes sense either.

So Casey Kasem still owns AT40 w/Shadoe Stevens? Are you sure you aren't thinking they just didn't spend the money to remaster the Shadoe shows for rebroadcast? That's what I'm thinking. The idea that you would buy the show from 1970-1988, and then the current one makes no sense at all.

Well that explains why you can openly sell Shadoe shows on eBay.
