WWIS Starts about 7 minutes early WWIS is an AM station. They go off the air when the sun goes down. The sun goes down awfully early in early December in Wisconsin. I thought maybe I should verify this as I have never listened much past 30 seconds after WWIS returns to local programming. I tuned in at 5.20pm local time yesterday and listened to 6pm. They were on the air the whole time and they were playing different songs than the FM country station. Evidently going off the air because of the sun setting isn't the biggest factor, but they did also start shows early and end early last December. My plan is to tune in 10 to 15 minutes early for the next month.

The stream apparently runs 24 hrs, as they now have that other FM translator frequency that carries the AM programming.

That's what I also listen to on Fridays as I am about 300 miles west of their transmitter.

Prediction for the next two weeks' shows:
1st Guess - Top 100 of 1985 2nd Guess - Top 100 of 1982
1985 would be the most logical choice, and is my guess for the year end special this year. If not '85, I'll guess 1982, which happened three years ago and could be repeated. That guess is largely based on the way the weekly countdowns have been played over the past several months.

My money's on the top 100 of 1985 during the transition into 2020, and the first regular weekly show being the January 16, 1982 show.

Roxette was the third act from Sweden to top the U.S.charts. And at the time, they all occurred in the same weekend in April on each of these occurrences. Ace of Base would later do the same with "The Sign" - it was in the #1 spot on that same weekend in April 1994, though surprisingly Shadoe never mentioned it then.

So unlike the 70's selection, this one was pretty obvious to all of us. Interesting comparing this year to the last time the 1985 Top 100 was played: 2010 - FOUR total weekly countdown shows for the year, including no shows until March, no shows between April and August, and then nothing from September (the Snuggles show) until the year-end special 2019 - FOUR shows in the second half of the year alone, including a show every month from August through November, SEVEN 'A' shows for the year, TEN total including 'B' shows

I wonder if they're trying to get 1985 back into first place...

Terrible edit on Stryper's "Honestly" at #36. Good song, no excuse for it being edited in its debut week. I won't blame Premiere since it sounds like an AT40 edit from that period of bad edits.

Way to throw us off.

Respect your opinion, but to me a good edit of that song would be one that edits it down to, oh, maybe 30 seconds or less...

Yeah, that edit screwed up the continuity of the song. And yes, that was hardly the only edit like that in that era ("Foolish Beat" by Debbie Gibson comes to mind). On the plus side, did anyone notice that they added the bridge to "Power Of Love" by Laura Branigan?
