WWIS *never* starts early.
I've noticed that their streaming interface has changed slightly, and they're back to running "news" headlines again. Hmmm...
Also, does anyone else have tech issues with WWIS? Every week, without fail, the feed cuts out three or four times, always requiring a refresh, at minimum. I don't think I have this issue with ANY other station, and none of my myriad efforts ameliorates.

Need help to survive the next 2 Sundays. I use I-Heart Radio to listen to the 80's shows, and all my stations on Sunday have turned Christmas on me. Does anyone know of any Heart Radio stations that still air the 80's shows on Sundays at 7 AM or 8 AM Easter??? If you have to go iheartradio (and can't do KOKZ for instance, which is maybe the best Sunday morning option), here are a couple. Note that they don't play the extras... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday 7 am - 11 am KCMO – Kansas City's Greatest Hits – Kansas City, KS 94.9 FM Listen - Stream Links: player.streamtheworld.com/liveplayer.php?callsign=KCMOFM www.iheart.com/live/949-kcmo-5666/?autoplay=truetunein.com/radio/949-KCMO-s32092/ Listen – Stream URL: provisioning.streamtheworld.com/asx/KCMOFMAAC.asx Website: www.949kcmo.com/---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday 7 am - 10 am (Alternates between 70's & 3 hour version 80's shows) WHTT - Classic Hits 104.1 - Buffalo NY 104.1 FM Listen - Stream Links: player.streamtheworld.com/_players/citadel/?sid=2938 www.iheart.com/live/classic-hits-1041-5461/?autoplay=truetunein.com/radio/Classic-Hits-1041-s29451/ Listen – Stream URL: provisioning.streamtheworld.com/asx/WHTTFMAAC.asx Website: www.whtt.com/Plays first 2 Optional Extras ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Too bad WWIS can't find enough local sponsors, to end at the top of the hours.

WWIS Starts about 7 minutes early WWIS is an AM station. They go off the air when the sun goes down. The sun goes down awfully early in early December in Wisconsin.

Too bad WWIS can't find enough local sponsors, to end at the top of the hours. They actually have plenty of local sponsors, the thing today was that they started the show 7 minutes early. I tuned in right at 1 p.m. and missed part of the 1st segment,I joined in the middle of Billy Ocean at #39.

So probably around 4:00? December 15 sunset in La Crosse--about 35 air miles from Black River falls--is 4:28. Since daytime-only AM station signoff times are based on the closest quarter hour to sunset on the 15th of each month, their December signoff time should be 4:30PM. As far as I know their FM station has a country format and does not run AT40. So they may indeed be starting the show early in order to run it all, or nearly all, before their signoff time, which is at it's earliest in December.

It airing the weekend before Christmas I would think it would be a standalone with a Christmas themed alternate option for those stations playing only Holiday music? The show that hasn't aired in the longest time is 12/26/87 so that would be my guess.
Also, is there a chance "Do They Know It's Christmas" might be an optional extra on the 1984 show? It seems appropriate given the season.
I'd like to see it be an extra, since 12/22/1984 won't be played this year but that was the week it entered the Hot 100. But I have a feeling it would more likely be an extra for that show instead of the selected 12/15 show. Maybe 12/22 gets played next year. Beside its countdown appearance: We can hear a piece of "Do They Know It´s Christmas" just before Paul McCartney´s "No More Lonely Nights" on the 12/22/84-show. And it was an AT40-extra on the 12/27/86-show between #28 and #27.

Too bad Stevie's song only hit #17. Maybe the pop public expected another ballad, after 'I just called'.

WWIS 1260AM programming is also heard on 105.3 FM in Black River,Falls. I don't know if at sunset they lower the power on the AM side, which is required by the FCC to continue running after sunset or if they shut down the AM and run programming on the FM translator only after sunset. Their country FM is on 99.7.

Premiere should've picked an OE that was already on the chart, not go ahead to the next week. There'll be opportunities to hear 'Careless whisper'in future '85 broadcasts.

I run them off of iTunes now, so I no longer go to their home page. Unsure what you mean about the AM being required to continue on-air after sunset, as they used to be a daytime-only AM station. Do know that they no longer run a sign-off announcement on their stream as they used to do in December (and maybe January as well--can't remember) when the AM would be required to sign off before the end of AT40.
