Optional extras for the 5/18/85 show: Hour #1: "Find A Way" - Amy Grant (#85; debuted) Hour #2: "The Goonies R Good Enough" - Cyndi Lauper (#45; debuted) Hour #3: "Suspicious Minds" - Elvis Presley Hour #4: "A View To A Kill" - Duran Duran (#43; debuted) Why is Elvis an extra? Don't think that one is from 1985.

It is no surprise that KOLA is going with May 31, 1981 next week. May 24, 1986 aired last year.
KOLA used to air a B show once a month. I think the station has aired one B show since last June.

This week's presentations (Weekend of May 25-26)...THE 40 TOP HITS OF THE 1980s...SO FAR - July 4, 1987 (BONUS). My only beef with this particular show is that a huge hit that missed hitting #1 on the weekly chart is conspicuously absent.

I'm a little surprised they didn't go with 5/31/86 for the 'B' show, given that 5/24/86 did just air last year.

"Suspicious Minds" was an original extra in this show. However, they usually only use original extras as Optionals on the 1970s shows - generally, for the 80s, they go with current songs. It's not like there were slim pickings of songs climbing the Hot 100 on their way to the Top 40.

Not really a surprise, except for 5/30/81, as KOLA has aired the exact same show in back-to-back years before, see 4/9/83 as an A then B from 2015 & 2016 respectively! at40fg.proboards.com/post/115139/thread

Hey wow, mga707 kicked off page 2000! Well, for now, anyway (as there are almost always posts deleted from this topic every weekend - someone trying to keep their post counts down, perhaps?) EDIT: See - two posts were deleted, so currently, I start off page 2000 (w00t)!! It's only a matter of time before my post gets bumped back to near the bottom of page 1999. EDIT: Yep, it's happened! Who is it that keeps deleting their posts??
