Extra predictions:
The Goonies 'R' Good Enough - Cyndi Lauper Every Time You Go Away - Paul Young You Give Good Love - Whitney Houston A View To A Kill - Duran Duran
No highest debut on the Hot 100 this week, as "Raspberry Beret" debuted in the Top 40 at #37. The week before, there was another Top 40 debut - "Sussudio" by Phil Collins. I wonder if that'll be played as an extra the next time they play the 5/4/1985 show, as, over the past year or two, they've been doing that for Top 40 debuts the week before they hit the Hot 100.

No less than SEVEN artists have 2 songs each on this week's 1983 chart. Not sure if that's a record but it's an impressive total.

FYI - WQSR started airing The Ron Burgundy Podcast at 7:30pm. At about 7:55 I tuned into the station in the car and wondered "what the heck is that?", since otherwise it's usually music without DJ's. But it didn't affect their regular Casey presentation. (I could gripe about them only playing one optional extra, but Ron Burgundy has nothing to do with that.)

Picks for extras — like with the 1979 show, I tried to pick songs that made the top 40 but don’t get heard much on oldies/classic hits radio, which I’ve always believed to be the purpose of these AT40 extras:
* “Tough All Over” — John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. An eventual No. 22 hit. * “Crazy In the Night” — Kim Carnes. Reached No. 15. * “The Goonies ‘R Good Enough” — Cyndi Lauper. * “Find a Way” — Amy Grant. A new chart entry, would get to No. 29.

"A View To A Kill" has the distinction of being the first theme from a James Bond movie to reach # 1.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 5/30/81 2nd Guess - 5/23/87
1981 appears to be the most likely show for Memorial Day weekend, though any of 1982, '84, and '87 would not be a surprise. I like all of those to happen in June...

I like all of those to happen in June... Don't think it would be 1984; 5/19/84 could be played, but if it were it would probably be this coming weekend. 5/26/84 was guest hosted. Plus we may get a special as well, even if the regular show is from a year that doesn't get B's--and only 5/31/86 seems like a possibility out of those, with the guest hosted 1984 show and 1983 and 1985 done the last two weeks (and 5/24/86 was done last year.)

Yeah 5/19/84 would be the show if it's 1984, but that does seem unlikely. My logic there was simply that 1984 holds the longest dry spell after '81.
