JMW, how can we be expected to enjoy the broadcast, when Premiere gives us unpredictable edits? We can't!

No one else seems to have a problem listening to the show with the edits (and if they do, they don't complain about it nearly as much as you do).
(For the record, I have no issue with the edits.)

Dave, I am probably second to you when it comes to complaining about edits. But I am not all talk and no action. The action I took on this week's 70s show is I record the show and I record it in segments. If the segment is edit free or the edit is rather insignificant, I let it go. If there is an edit or even if there is none but there is an Lp version I would rather hear, I edit in the longer song. Takes a little extra time. But guess what, at the end of the day, I have a show that has insignificant or no edits. For the record, I edited in 13 longer songs on that 1977 show. (Which is about the most I ever edit in btw; but there were many classic rock songs with longer Lp versions in the show). This is not as much of an issue in 80s shows however, Premiere edits notwithstanding.

I'll be sure to check it out next Friday (February 19th) and Saturday (February 20th),why wait until Sunday? Unless the New Orleans Saints have a Sunday afternoon game--or if the station has wall-to-wall Christmas music-- WJDX-FM will air American Top 40: The '80s Sundays, from 8 am to 12 pm (Central Time).

With next weekend's offering being 1985, this means February 1985 will have been exhausted. Not sure if February 2, 1985 has previously aired, and if so, when.
I'd say it's a toss-up between 1982 or 1987 to close out February. I hope it's 1987.
Also, I do remember listening to the February 18, 1984 show recently, and I did learn that "Footloose" was that show's biggest mover, but after viewing Walt Bailey's site, i discovered on this weekend's offering that it debuted at #36 on February 11, 1984. I was rather surprised it was the biggest mover the following week in 1984, and moved up only five or six notches.

I honestly rarely even notice the edits. And if I do, I still enjoy the show. The constant and repeated complaints are wearing thin.

Or are you affiliated with them in any way?

This is the second week in a row that we've had a show with Casey explaining dreams to us. (Last week it was in conjunction with Heart's "These Dreams", this week with Irene Cara's "The Dream".) Note how he mentioned rapid eye movement--or REM. I wonder if he ever talked about this subject on any countdown when that band was on the chart?

JMW, how can we be expected to enjoy the broadcast, when Premiere gives us unpredictable edits? We can't! No you shouldn't. You should quit listening to the show and demand Premiere quit airing them to protect their integrity! Only ORIGINAL edits made 30 years ago are appropriate! Making money in this ad market be d**ned! No complete show (with original edits of course)! No peace!
