Star 107.9 playing 8/08/87 Are you not aware yet that we are not supposed to post about that station? Or, simply does not care. In which case...there's a line from a certain song in both the Star show and the actual "A" show that can be inserted here. (It starts with, "Na na na na...") And seeing as we played out this discussion last week, it's probably pointless to re-hash it again now IMO.

Personally i can't see anything wrong in giving the date that star are playing ,but it's Scott's forum and he said we can't discuss unauthorized airings so we should just concentrate on the premiere broadcasts here

Uh-oh We have a discrepancy here. KGOR is airing 1987 NOT 1982. They couldn't pass up the radio mix version of "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake. BTW, they just so happened to play that version Friday morning. Anyone going to church might tune in just in time for that mispronounced station from Norway before #20 Beware!

It was worth waiting for KOKZ to hear the hilariously bad snippet of "Stayin' Alive" by Ethel Merman. .... Whoops, turned out to be Jo Stafford. But it sure sounded like Merman!

Wow ... The Jennifer Holliday performance still is chill-inducing, even 33 years later!

Listening to "Love Is In Control" made me wonder: Would her career have more successfully transitioned to pop/rock if Giffen had chosen to follow up "Control" with "Protection," the Springsteen-written rocker, instead of "The Woman in Me" or "State of Independence"?

I'd say yes, mainly because I love "Protection" -- great track. Trivia (for those who didn't know): Bruce gave her "Protection" and "Cover Me"; Miss Summer chose "Protection" and so Bruce recorded "Cover Me" himself. Jocelyn Brown of "Somebody Else's Guy" fame sang on the demos sent to Summer.

Really? Fort Wayne's Fun 101.7 WLDE had been airing AT40 70s random shows instead of following Premiere schedule. Just this morning they were airing May 28, 1977; last week was Sept 23, 1978; two weeks ago were airing May 12, 1979.

You can't see anything wrong with giving advertisement to a station that's playing a show illegally? Really? The purpose of this board is to keep Casey's memory alive by reliving and discussing his AT40 broadcasts. I have no idea which stations doing random airings are kosher. If they aren't, I assume the legal folks will eventually get involved somewhere along the way and deal with it. Until then, I am going to continue to enjoy their broadcasts and be thankful to have them. You have been told more than once that station airs the show illegally and to stop advertising it. You also know the main person who runs it has said to stop advertising illegal airings of the show. So, yes you DO know this.
