Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess: 6/15/85 2nd Guess: 6/13/87
A strong inkling that it will be one of these two, and the one other decent possibility might be 6/16/84. If they don't play 1985 next weekend, it would more than likely be late July before we'd hear another '85 show, which seems to be too long since the last airing. With the selection of 1988 for this coming weekend, I'm inclined to think the next '87 show might be in July...

I'm thinking 1985 is most likely for next week as well.

With the selection of 1988 for this coming weekend, I'm inclined to think the next '87 show might be in July... See, it's due to the scheduling of the '88 show this weekend that makes me think that 6/15/85 could still be a likely candidate for airing June 20 - it'd be literally the opposite modus operandi of scheduling, there. I also think 6/13/87 will be what comes up for next weekend. If that doesn't happen: 1) 6/27/87 will instead air this month as an A show; it'd be the first 2011 repeat for the 80s. 2) mkarns mentioned that apparently there wasn't an airable copy of the regular 7/4/87 show, last we knew? If we don't get 87 in June, then we should cross our fingers that this has been remedied, otherwise: 3) With the rest of July 87 out of the question, we get no 87 until August, and with the last A show having been 3/28, that is WAY too long a drought. Having said this, if in fact we do get 6/15/85 for next weekend, then my hunch is that we will very likely see an '84 repeat for one of the two weeks after that. But I don't think holding '84 until July would be so bad; they'd have two 2010 repeats as viable options there. If they really wanted to be new show sticklers, then we should probably expect these three shows next, in this order: 6/15/85, 6/19/82, 6/27/81. But it's due to the '87 scheduling issues regarding July that make me think this will not come to pass.

Saturday 10 AM - 1982 Saturday 3 PM - 1988 Sunday 9 AM - 1971 Sunday 3 PM - 1976 Woohoo! We love WTOJ... Absolutely, even if it does contribute to Billy Fuccillo overload. (For the uninitiated, Fuccillo owns a large number of auto dealerships in central and northeastern NY, the former containing WTOJ and the latter being my home, and is a major radio and TV advertiser, with the catchphrase of "huge." A couple of years ago, the wife and I went on a much-needed vacation to Sanibel, in southwest Florida. Last thing we heard on the radio before leaving the car at Albany Airport was Billy Fuccillo, and my wife made a comment about Billy being omnipresent on the radio. Land at Southwest Florida airport in Fort Myers, get the rental car, turn on the radio, and the first thing we hear is "IT'S HUUUUUGE!" He's there too!)

I've heard the rumor about the 7/4/87 weekly countdown not being playable, but XM aired that show back in 2009 before they stopped airing Casey shows. I don't know that they would've aired it if it were "unplayable" (XM at the time seemed to do a much better job of airing AT40 shows than they do today, btw). BTW, the sequence you list for the last three weeks of June (85,82,81) is what I'm banking on...however, I will probably be wrong. It is entirely possible we'll hear 87,85 and then either 81 or 82 in the coming weeks.

Magic 98 WMGN is going with 1982 As is KGOR. Looks like I will have to tune in KQMA (Sunday afternoon) or WQSR (Sunday evening) to see what they're doing. I'm a big fan of the 1987 and 1988 shows and I don't believe 6/11/88 is one I've heard before, unless I heard it in its original airing way back when. Rick in South Omaha, Nebraska

Rick in South Omaha, Nebraska Rick, you may want to go to KKPR Power 99 (Kearney,Ne) on TUNEIN on Saturday at 2pm or Sunday (repeat) night at 8pm to catch the 80's version of AT40. Not quite sure which version you will get but they usually run the A show.

I'm thinking that they'll probably air either 6/19/82 or 6/26/82. I hope so, because those are the last two "new" shows for that year - the rest of the shows for '82 either have already been done or were guest hosted.
As I've mentioned before, I have a feeling that 1982 is on deck for the year-end show, so they'll play just one or two 1982 shows during the second half.

Beware of Abigail radio, they missed the whole 3rd hour (4-5pm) of last week's show (at least for the Friday 2pm EDT airing). It was just music and not AT40. Strangely, the 3rd optional extra was played and then the 4th hour ran as normal).
I set up a backup recording just in case as I would be extremely upset if it happened during a 1988 show.

Usually record 3 or 4 stations airing the show then i know i can get the full show with all the extra's

Not the day to record AT40 off Abigail... So far at least, they have cut off the last seconds of Casey talking before the commercial breaks.. The timing of AT40's outros/Abigail's extras&commercials seems slightly off. There's always WLIX tonight at 8pm EST.. They are pretty reliable.

Listening to the show on WWIS reminds me of growing up listening to a local station do the countdown on Saturday afternoons & if you think WWIS is bad listen to this. It started at various times on Saturday & it was the Top 50 instead of Top 40 but it was from Billboard. Here's where it gets fun it was always (at least) a month old, you could hear him cue up the 45's but he only had about 1/2 of the songs (toward the end of the 80's I'd say he had maybe 15-20 of them)& the ones he didn't have he would mention title & artist & say missing from our list. The top of each hour was always interrupted by local news & the show would be cut short for local sports & finished afterwards (if there was time before the station went off the air. Finally was the fun of him forgetting to turn the mic off & hearing coughing, door slamming & toilet flushing.

Yes, I was recording and noticed that...pretty messed up. Oh well, plenty of other broadcasts for the 88 show this weekend.

Why on Earth would Premiere give us extras from the Shadoe-era of '88? Doesn't make sense to me.
